In firefox 4.0 beta5 and later and in the latest nightly of firefox, NVDA will sometimes on some sites not give focus to the content. Pressing the arrow keys reads nothing, and will sometimes say blank. NVDA will also say no status bar when pressing insirt end.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2010/09/super-loud-tv-commercials-one-step-closer-to-extinction.ars

note that this may rap.

  1. Start pressing the arrows when the page loads. Notice that reading doesn't take place. Tab sometimes work but more often than not produces a blank buffer. Sometimes refreshing the buffer works.

Well, if its happening in windows 7 then fine, but I cannot get it to do this on http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/news/2010/09/super-loud-tv-commercials-one-step-closer-to-extinction.ars in Win XP.
However, there is something similar occuring on the blindcooltech site in Firefox.
On your test site, if the buffers are not there does bringing up a menu and cancelling it result in it creating the buffers, as this seems to be the case in blindcooltech.
I must stress though that its hit and miss even on that site here with quite a slow machine running xp.

This is definitely a bug in Firefox 4. I've filed MozillaBug:604560.
