When developing or evaluating usability using NVDA a developer often needs to store a screen reader text output. This seems to be easily accomplished using the speech viewer. However the speech viewer constantly adds new content as the developer is trying to interact with it (selecting with a mouse or keyboard) and causes thousands of meaningless lines to be added in a loop - and no text gets selected.
A solution would be to ommit updates from the viewer itself. Selecting the text as a whole is insufficient as the content is often huge.
