Not sure for older Skype versions, but definitely confirmed by myself and some other users with Skype 4.2. Go to Tools and Extras SubMenu, and you will notice that NVDA just says "Menu Item, X of X". Pressing Ctrl+NVDA+F2 on a menu item, you will hear just "Blank". This was confirmed with NVDA bzr-main-3514.

This option (extras) is still not working with NVDA version 2011.1.1 and it was not working with older versions of skype.
