Description
Using NVDA version 2009.1 with SAPI 4 (IBM ViaVoice?), I noted lag in speech response in general but browsing Internet Explorer 8 in particular. The system with which this problem is noted has 1 GB of RAM, 1.66 GHZ processor speed, and running Window XP sp3. Other than my anti virus software, no other application is opened. Most notable is in the following.
Let's say there are a number of links found in a listed order, and - you are browsing through them using up and down arrow keys, there is a significant delay (or pause) in speech response before you hear item in focused.

At the risk of dire consequences in the legal sense, I'll chip in here. there are two versions around of the via voice package. I found the one that I aleeady had from the old ibm product with very many languages always works on 2010.2 and the latest snaps, but the hacked one running around on the web with just a few languages can fall over for no apparent reason.
as this is in fact the synth we shall not mention under a different name, I generally keep my mouth shut as we nearly always end up in an argument about right to use it on other software! grin
I'm using xp pro sp3 here.

Is this still true for NVDA 2010.2?
