It appears that NVDA won't read read-only content such as Labels in Flash; interaction with the application is limited to forms, which can be accessed using the tab key.

For example, if I have created an AIR 2 application using Flex and have included one Label and one TextArea, NVDA will never read the contents of the Label, but will read the contents of the TextArea when I give it focus. In JAWS, I would consider this using forms mode, and never switching to "virtual PC cursor" mode.

Currently, we treat Flash applications like we treat any desktop application. That is, if you want to read controls that are not focusable, you should use NVDA's object navigation and review commands. This is not a bug.

I'm mutating this ticket to be a request for virtual buffers to be rendered for Flash content.
Changes:
Changed title from "NVDA only reads forms in Adobe Flash/Flex/AIR" to "Virtual buffer for Flash content"
