This started with the nightly dev builds on 12 September 2012. If you are using the HumanWare Brailliant BI driver and go into forms mode to enter text into an web edit control you hear the error tone from NVDA on each keypress. I set braille preferences to no display and the issue stops.

Please attach a log including the error. Also, please specify what braille table you are using.

Is this new since e08ba00? For example, does it occur in NVDA 2012.2.1? If it's only a recent bug, it's a bug in liblouis 2.5.0. I think my fixes to liblouis today should cover this. Please try the following:

  1. Exit the copy of NVDA you want to test with. You may need to start another portable copy.
  2. Download this test build of liblouis.
  3. Copy liblouis.dll into your NVDA program directory, overwriting the existing copy.
  4. Start that copy of NVDA and test.
