Hello,

In Skype 5, in the "Recent" tab of Skype's main window, in the tab itself, there's a number witch indicates how many unread events we have. The same number is displayed in Skype's main window titlebar, and NVDA reads that information (from the "Recent" tab) very well. For example, when we "land" on the tab and there is 1 new event, NVDA reads "Recent (1 new)". In the list of recent conversations (accessed with ALT+2), the name of the conversation/contact from witch we have unread events, is written in bold text and the number of unread events from that conversation/contact is displayed on the right side of the list entry. NVDA however, does not indicate in any way that there are unread (new) event for that entry. In my opinion, NVDA should at least read the number that indicates the number of unread events for that entry, but it does not. Could this be done from NVDA itself, or it is something related to accessibility witch Skype team has to fix/improve in order for this to work properly? I'm asking, because, as far as I remember, JAWS can read that number displayed in that conversation entry (but I don't know if it uses its so called Video Intercept" in order to retrieve that information). Also, after a few tests, it appears that Microsoft's Narrator can read that number as well. So, I guess that NVDA can read it as well, if instructed to do so.

Thank you in advance!

P.S.: Sorry for not specifying NVDA version and OS, but I think that it doesn't matter here.

In [c2ffda9]:

In the Skype recent conversations list, the number of new events is now read for each conversation if relevant.

We're now using the name as intended (which includes the new event count) instead of overriding it with the value. This does mean that the Skype name is no longer included, but I'm pretty sure even sighted users don't see this.
Fixes #1446.
