Comment 3 by parham on 2011-03-29 11:06 In my humble opinion, we should first allow time for an open-source synthesizer to be created, one which can read Farsi. A Farsi-localized NVDA is useless to people living in Iran, unless they own a copy of version 2.0 of the proprietary synthesizer called "Parsava", which has recently been given out, and has some inconsistencies with standard SAPI5 synthesizers, and therefore does not work very well with NVDA. If, however, you still insist on having a Farsi NVDA, I am currently living in Iran and have done countless translation projects, although none of them have been for software even though my major is software engineering like you. Regardless, if I can help, do let me know at my e-mail address. Like the previous responder, please convert "dot" to period and "at" to the at sign, then copy-paste it to your e-mail client if that's what you do. My e-mail address is: parham90 at gmail dot com Take care, |

Traduction (français > anglais)
Hello,
I myself am a software development engineer and a native of Iran have consultations web pages in Farsi on the internet.
This project is dear to my heart, for me already, but for the blind Iranians in Iran who are totally excluded from access to computers.
I am addressing particularly to developers of NVDA, to know their opinions and to estimate the load of work to do and at what level: NVDA itself, synthesizers or voices?
It is worth recalling that Farsi is written from right to left and its alphabet is similar to that of Arabic, so maybe just copy the Arabic version and to adapt it to Fars!!
Thank you to everyone who can give me a hand in this project.
Waiting for your comments and your active participation
Regards Akbar
