If possible, it would be great to be able to use a Freedom Scientific focus 40 Blue braille display with NVDA via a bluetooth conection. At the moment, I can connect the display to my laptop with the USB cable, and use it with NVDA's focus/packmate series support. But it would be nice if like the Baum braille displays, I could use the display for reading, being some distance away from my computer.

It seems that the Freedom Scientific braille display API doesn't have specific support for automatic detection of bluetooth displays. I've tried to do this in our code for the Focus 40 Blue.
Please try this driver and let me know how you go. Place it in the brailleDisplayDrivers directory inside your NVDA configuration directory. For an installed copy of NVDA, this will be %appdata%\nvda\brailleDisplayDrivers.

One user confirms that this works for bluetooth and still works for USB. This can't go into 2011.1, since we've past feature freeze, but we'll put it in the next release.

Milestone changed from None to 2011.2

A few users have requested this and two have confirmed that it works. It is low impact. In addition, the user guide was never clear that only USB worked.
