When I'am using OUtlook 2010 and want tu read the message-list, NVDA does not show the current message header.
To reproduce:

  1. Open Outlook 2010
  2. Go to the folder list and select Inbox for example.
  3. Tab to go to the message list.
NVDA focus still in the folder list. When I use the up and down arrow, I can select the message (to verify use application key au enter to read the message), but the NVDA focus still be blocked in the folder list tu the current folder.
The flat review does not show me a interresting informations.

This happens in 2010-2 and in the current snapshot (3992).

NVDA reads the last focused object even if the focus is at the message list view. For instance, after activating and deactivating the ribbon, NVDA says "file tab" even if the focus is at the message list view. Accidentally, I discovered that pressing alt+t leads NVDA to read the focused message header. But to read the headers of the other messages in the list view it requires pressing that alt+t each time while arrowing up and down through the message list.

This deffect should get a higher priority since it makes working in Outlook 2010 with NVDA quite hard. The deffect still exist in Releas 2011.1.1

It would be great if a solution for this problem available with 2011.2.

I have a bizarre problem with NVDA which I
would really like to solve. I have done my best to set up Outlook 2010, but
for some reason I am unable to read the messages in my folders-if I move up
and down what I know to be the list of messages in the inbox or any other
folder, NVDA does not read anything, it just says "blank". I am able to read
these lists of messages correctly with JAWS, but I really want to stick with
NVDA. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Windows 7 64 bit.

Addition: if I happen to touch the touchpad on my laptop I can get the message headers to read but this is not a usable option.

Still not able to read through message list in Outlook 2010. Focus seems to be on the correct item, but using up and down arrows does not read the focused message list item.

If this helps, NVDA-Up-Arrow (read-line) will read the message where the cursor is at present, meaning that moving up or down the list and invoking the read-line keystroke with each move will force NvDA to read the list.

Could someone who is having this problem please do the following:

  1. Move focus to the message list.
  2. Press NVDA+f1. (This will open the Log Viewer.)
  3. Press shift+control+end, then control+c. This will copy the info to the clipboard.
  4. Paste it into a comment in this ticket.
    Thanks.

Nice, I can confirm this is fixed here and very snappy response arrowing through the list of messages now.
